Alaskans lift each other up. It’s just what we do. And in uncertain times like these, we’re proud to have partners who do the same for us.
Several GCI partners have stepped up to help Alaskans through the coronavirus pandemic. One such partner, Netcracker, manages GCI’s billing platform. In early March, GCI joined other providers across the nation to sign on to the FCC Keep Americans Connected Pledge—a commitment to not terminate service for customers during the crisis and to waive late fees for customers impacted by the pandemic. Additionally, GCI offered free internet upgrades for existing customers and free internet services for new customers to help support individuals and families that would be spending more time at home. These straightforward commitments required a significant number of complex system and process changes that needed to be completed in a matter of days. GCI’s technology partner Netcracker embraced the challenge and quickly jumped in to assist GCI to accommodate and implement these new commitments.
Behind the scenes, GCI worked closely with Netcracker to conceptualize how to provide a seamless experience for customers. The challenge: ensure a smooth experience for customers that needed to stay connected. No small feat, GCI and Netcracker worked hard together to update every GCI customer account to make sure no one had any surprise fees on their account.
Netcracker’s Anchorage team has been right beside GCI, keeping Alaskans connected through these last few months of uncertainty. Netcracker’s commitment and flexibility has been critical in assisting GCI in offering Alaskans many promotions and critical services.
Because GCI is Alaska born and raised, we know how crucial all businesses, and especially small businesses, are in our state. Just as Netcracker has been an invaluable partner to GCI, we strive to be valued partners to all our business customers as they work to provide services to Alaskans. We’re offering our business customers extra support during these times:
- Providing information to improve the experience of your remote workforce.
- Evaluating your network to ensure it will sustain a significant percentage of your employees working from home and using a VPN to access critical files.
- Assessing your bandwidth and usage to identify if you are prepared to support increased use of teleconferencing or video teleconferencing.
“We’re proud to partner with GCI to keep Alaskans connected during these uncertain times,” said Jessica Britt, director of managed services at Netcracker, “We’ll continue to make adjustments to our system to keep GCI’s billing operations running smoothly now and into the future.”
